Central Florida’s charities are growing from generous contributions made by local corporations. There’s a long list of charities for firms to give to, including American Red Cross of Central Florida, Boggy Creek Gang, and Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Likewise, there is a long list of philanthropic companies in central Florida who are willing to give, including Walt Disney World Resort, Wells Fargo Financial, the Orlando Magic, Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp. and ZeroChaos.
During the early months of 2016, the Building Owners and Managers Association gave $3,000 in cash and supplies to Harbor House of Central Florida. They also gave $2,000 in cash and gift cards to the Foundation for Foster Children.
Additionally, the Alzheimer’s Association received a benevolent endowment from Cite Partners, a Central Florida commercial real estate firm, that donated $9,252. At the beginning of the quarter, Cite Partners committed to giving to the nonprofit organization $100 for every 10,000 square feet that its brokers leased or sold.
Many companies outline priorities, eligibility, goals and objectives for corporate giving. Wells Fargo services multiple regions in Florida, including Central and South Florida. Wells Fargo is committed to supporting programs in two primary areas, those being community development and education, helping to provide housing, job training and financial education for low and moderate income individuals. They also hope to advance teaching, promote academic achievement and facilitate merit-based access to higher education for underrepresented groups.
Moreover, Wells Fargo is committed to supporting social and human service organizations, arts and culture, civic engagement and the environment. This support makes it possible to enhance a community’s understanding of civic leadership, citizen education, cultural diversity, community beautification and public policy. Also, Wells Fargo demonstrates a need to support health services, basic needs assistance, educational programs, artistic opportunities, cultural experiences, health services, natural resource conservation, environmental education, and environmental sustainability.
